Some pieces carry more than just history — they embody an era, a legacy, and the artistry of a bygone world. One such treasure in our portfolio is a remarkable Louis XVI-era chaise longue, believed to have once graced the halls of Pavlovsk Palace. Restoring this extraordinary piece was both a privilege and a responsibility. With the utmost care, we preserved its essence, allowing the craftsmanship of the late 18th century to shine once more. The upholstery — a handwoven silk damask, faithfully recreated from
an original Pavlovsk design — brings the splendor of classicism at the Russian court back to life. To further honor its heritage, we used exquisite trimmings from Declerq, the renowned Parisian atelier celebrated for its craftsmanship in royal residences such as Versailles.

Classicism: The style of Classicism is a phase from the middle of the 18th century to the first half of the 19th century and followed as a counter-movement to the Baroque and Rococo eras. The era can be divided into the Louis Seize, Empire, Biedermeier and Regency phases. A key characteristic of this movement is its orientation towards the forms of Greco-Roman antiquity, which were adopted both in architecture and in the design of furniture. A formal canon of strict, clear lines, simple proportions, classical motifs and restrained decoration developed. This style, extremely elegant in its simplicity and with its antique-like forms, has been a source of inspiration ever since and is still used today.
