The Art of Leather: A Look into Our Exclusive Leather Collections
Leather is a timeless choice for furniture due to its elegance, durability, and comfort. It adds a touch of style to any space and is highly resistant to stains and cracks. With a variety of styles and textures, leather complements various interior designs and develops a unique patina over time. Additionally, it is relatively low-maintenance, easy to clean, making it the perfect choice for furniture that needs to be both beautiful and functional.
We place great importance on the quality and origin of our materials. Therefore, we work closely with local German companies known for their high-quality leather. One of our long-standing partners is "Leder Fiedler," a renowned German company that offers a wide range of exquisite leather types.
For Löffler, regionality is not just a trend but an important quality feature. The leather from "Leder Fiedler" is produced in Germany to the highest standards and is distinguished by its durability, resilience, and natural beauty. By collaborating with our supplier, we ensure that every piece of leather integrated into our furniture meets the highest quality standards.
Leder Fiedler was founded in 1988 and has over three and a half decades of experience. From its headquarters in the beautiful Weserbergland, leather is shipped daily to all parts of the world. The raw materials for most items are procured directly by Leder Fiedler and are exclusively processed into various leathers in a German tannery and in Italian tanneries. This ensures control over the products. Leder Fiedler distances itself from cheap leather of dubious origin and production. The focus in production is always on the reliability of the suppliers, including in terms of human and environmental practices. All leathers are REACH compliant (EU regulation REACH ensures safe and environmentally friendly production of leather in Europe through strict chemical regulations). Many items are tested according to the RAL UZ 117 award criteria (equivalent to the "Blue Angel"). In 2017, a new warehouse was established, built under the most modern criteria in terms of occupational safety and environmental technology.
Our Leather Collections Overview:
Our leather collections offer a wide range of textures, from buttery soft to robust. Each collection is carefully curated and features unique textures and characteristics that give our furniture a distinctive character.
The "Object" collection features durable and long-lasting leather specifically developed for furnishing hotels, offices, restaurants, and public spaces. With a wide color palette, this collection offers numerous choices for various interior styles and concepts.
"Object" is a chrome-free tanned leather that belongs to the group of pigmented leathers. The leathers are sanded on the surface and then embossed with a grain pattern. A surface color application makes it a very robust leather, which appears very uniform in its appearance (precisely due to sanding and embossing). Pigmentation enhances the usability of leather, protecting the surface and making it very easy to care for. This leather is ideally suited for high-traffic areas. "Object" finds its ideal use in both business and public spaces. Leather in the "pigmented leather" group meets the highest technical requirements, such as abrasion and lightfastness. At Löffler, the following colors are available: Black, Taupe, Spring, Elephant, Tenderly, Pebble, Merlot, Royal Blue, Red, Scarlet, Peru, Turquoise, and Indigo.
A piece of nature: "Butter." "Butter" is a vacuum-dried leather, kept flat and compact. It has a saddle-like appearance and a full feel, which is also due to its thickness of 1.4/1.6 mm. (Note: Saddle leather is a technical term for leather that is firm, rather smooth, and compactly worked, so it is not necessarily only intended for use on saddles). "Butter" has a beautiful natural appearance, which guarantees an immediate sense of genuine and high-quality leather.
"Butter" is a high-quality and soft smooth leather that will delight any leather fan. At Löffler, the following colors are available: Nero, Navy, Chocolate, Truffle, Cinnamon, Whiskey, Fango, Tomato.
"Butter" is an article of the "refined aniline" leather group. This group has only been officially included in the DGM (German Furniture Quality Association) for a few years. Initially, there were only aniline, semi-aniline, and pigmented leathers. The refined aniline leathers sensibly fill a gap between the aniline and semi-aniline leathers. The article is full-grain, which means that natural scars are visible; these leathers are not sanded. Unlike semi-aniline leathers (which are also full-grain but have a surface pigmentation), this group has only a slight surface refinement. This group responds to the needs of customers who want as natural leather as possible, but with "better" usability than pure aniline leather. Due to the refinement, the leather retains its natural and emotional appearance in look and feel, but is somewhat more "user-friendly" in everyday life than aniline leather: scratch sensitivity is reduced, care properties are slightly improved - in short: the leathers are not as sensitive as aniline leather.
At Löffler, we are proud to offer our customers such a diverse selection of high-quality leathers. Each collection has unique properties and qualities that make our furniture a special highlight. We warmly invite you to discover our furniture and enrich your home with timeless elegance and comfort.
